Dr. Joern Schaemann, LL.M.

Dr. Schaemann has extensive experience in commercial and corporate practice. His main areas of expertise are in corporate, trade and banking law.

During the five years prior to the founding of SCHAEMANN LAW OFFICES, he was a lawyer with Mayer Brown Rowe & Maw Platt, Wilmer Cutler Pickering (both previously Gaedertz Rechtsanwaelte) and Noerr Stiefenhofer Lutz in Frankfurt am Main and Berlin.

Dr. Schaemann has been involved in numerous German and international projects, both within Germany and abroad. He is fluent in written and spoken English.

He has a doctorate in alternative dispute resolution. He obtained the qualification of Master of Laws (LL.M.) at the Victoria University of Wellington, and undertook PhD studies as a visiting academic at the University of New South Wales, Sydney, and the University of British Columbia, Vancouver.

Dr. Schaemann studied at the Universities of Heidelberg, Berlin (Freie Universitaet), Lausanne, Switzerland, and Muenster. He is admitted before the District Court (Landgericht) and Regional High Court (Kammergericht) of Berlin and is a member of the German Institute for Arbitration (Deutsche Institution für Schiedsgerichtsbarkeit e.V.). He lectures at the LL.M. postgraduate course "European and International Business Law" at the Centre for Science and Tertiary Education Schlosshofen.
